Change of Schedule for the rest of the semester
As some of you may have noticed last week, we are looking to shift our screening times to begin at 3:30pm. This is to accommodate the unsuitability and poor reception to screenings in the George building during the brighter times of the day.
We will now try to begin the screenings in TD121 at 3:30pm
The Schedule for this week will be
Baka to Test ep 9 & 10
GITS - SAC Movie Special. Depending on time, have GITS:SAC Individual 11, Solid State Society and Laughing Man lined up!
Be sure to be there!
Current Plans for the remainder of 2011
Hello fellow SAC members,
Hope you've been well. It's been a while since we've posted here. So I figured that we'd fill you in on some of the current, but tentative, plans for the rest of 2011 for the Swinburne Anime Club.
In week 12, we will be having another themed Friday session. The theme will be Halloween. Dressing up in a Halloween costume is absolutely encouraged. A Catherine tournament has been discussed. No further details at this stage.
After exams, likely to be Sunday December 4th, we'll be having a picnic at Swinburne. It'll be in a similar format to the mid year BBQ we had this earlier year. More details to come.
If you have any suggestions, please use the forums.
We'll be working out the details of these events in the coming weeks. Watch this space!
Your Swinburne Anime Club Committee.
Week 6 Announcements
As many of you already know, we conducted a poll on the forums to see what theme we will have for this week. And the winner was SCI-FI!
Here are the current plans for the event.
We will be screening:
- Macross
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
- Eve No Jikan
- With a mix of our regular screenings
The late movie will be: Space Battleship Yamato
We will have two projectors running at the George: one for screenings, and the other for a console game tournament.
The winner of the tournament will win free entry to the Dark Zone Laser Tag event which has been sponsored by Eric.
The game of the tournament is still in question. We are leaving the game of the tournament up to members to vote on in a poll in the forums, under SAC events. The poll ends Wednesday 2:30pm!!!
Also as part of the theme, we are encouraging members to dress up in their Sci-Fi gear. It does not have to be directly related to Anime; any Sci-Fi franchise is acceptable. Since it is such short notice, even dressing in your Sci-Fi t-shirts works. Any effort to participate is appreciated.
Lastly, a reminder to those wishing to attend the Dark Zone event: Payment is due Wednesday 14th. Members: $25, non-members: $30. Late payments: $30.
Regards,
Those who we do not speak of.
